Description

Maciej Zieliński - "Across the Milleniums"

The album includes five orchestral and chamber compositions scored between 1993 and 2010. The compositions have won multiple Polish and international awards. They have also enjoyed significant popularity among both Polish and international performers.

It is particularly worth noting that “Lutoslawski in Memoriam” was first performed at St. John’s, Smith Square, in London on the fifth anniversary of Witold Lutoslawski’s death. Shortly thereafter the composition won the Alan Bush Composition Prize and the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music included Zielinski’s composition in their syllabus used by English Music Schools. Many well-known performers participated in the album’s recordings: The Polish Radio Orchestra conducted by Lukasz Borowicz and Marcin Nalecz-Niesiolowski, Trio Consonare per Varsavia, Tytus Wojnowicz and Grzegorz Gorczyca Duo as well as the fabulous soloists Artur Pachlewski and Tomasz Strahl.

Tadeusz Mieczkowski and Ewa Guziolek-Tubelewicz – the two outstanding sound engineers who supervised  the recording sessionsguaranteed the highest possible technical standards. The entire album was recorded with great attention to detail, sound transparency and clarity. All recording sessions took place at the Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio (S1) whose excellent acoustics complemented the performance.
