The film takes place in post-communist reality. It is a story of two young reporters investigating the murder of Stanisław Pyjas, an opposition leader killed n 1977 by SB - communist security forces. Some 50 minutes of stylistically diversified music was made in less than three weeks. The specificity of the film demanded various types of music; from hard rock, nearly grunge fragments, string quartet, orchestral music illustrations, acid-jazz love theme to techno music in a scene at a disco. A score so diversified was warmly received by the public and acclaimed by the critics. 'Gry uliczne' got the Special Prize in Gdynia '96 and Machiner '96 for the best Polish film.
