World premiere of Concello for cello and string orchestra

Warszawskie Spotkania MuzyczneThe world premiere of Concello for cello and a string orchestra took place on 12.05.2013 at the Warsaw Music Encounters festival. The piece was performed by an acclaimed soloist, Tomasz Strahl, accompanied by the excellent chamber orchestra Amadeus, an ensemble directed by Agnieszka Duczmal, on this occasion conducted by Anna Mróz

The one-part, 20-minute cello concert was especially commissioned by the festival for the performers: Tomasz Strahl and the chamber orchestra Amadeus. The solo part plays a primary role, with the orchestra in the complementary or dialogue function. The piece allows for the whole expressive spectrum of the cello to be presented.
